The development is 34,626m² in size and consists of the construction/refurbishment of state-of-the-art scientific facilities, incorporating new atria designed to fully integrate into both the existing and new Science Centre Buildings. This project has achieved a BREEAM Excellent Rating at Design Stage.
We were engaged as specialist airtightness experts to carry out site audits of the ongoing works, review of details, complex junctions, full ITC Level 2 building thermographic survey and the FINAL ISO 17025 INAB Accredited airtightness. The speed of construction, complexity of the building and size of the project resulted in monthly inspection intervals and regular workshops with the site team which enabled the building fulfil its specification of achieving between 3.00 (m3/hr) /m2 @ 50Pa and 5.00 (m3/hr) /m2 @ 50Pa.
