The new buildings were built and certified to the passive house standards, with air tightness requirement of 0.6m³ per hour per m³ at 50Pa. The works were carried out while maintaining full operation of the existing healthcare facility and are completed to meet HIQA standards. Heating is provided with a Heat Recovery Ventilation system. Windows and doors have been tested to Passive House standards. Building is constructed with 9 inch concrete block with 200mm external insulation with 275mm insulation in the roof and 200mm insulation under the floor.
We were engaged as specialist airtightness experts to carry out site audits of the ongoing works, review of details, complex junctions, full ITC Level 2 building thermographic survey and the FINAL ISO 17025 INAB Accredited airtightness. The speed of construction, complexity of the building and size of the project resulted in 1 x monthly inspection intervals and regular workshops with the site team which enabled the building fulfil its specification of < 3.00 (m3/hr) /m3 @ 50Pa.
