Georges Court is a high specification speculative office development in the centre of Dublin. Completed in early 2007, the buildings external envelope is extremely complex incorporating a myriad of different systems which give it a striking appearance and architectural presence. This resulted in many unique construction interfaces between a ‘stick’ curtain walling system, various different rainscreen systems, structural glazing and sections of lightweight roof.
BET were appointed to provide design stage training to the project team together with a comprehensive review of the architectural drawings and specifications. During the construction of the project BET provided onsite training to the main contractor and specialist sub-contractors.
We were engaged as specialist airtightness experts to carry out site audits of the ongoing works, review of details, complex junctions, and the FINAL ISO 17025 INAB Accredited airtightness. The speed of construction, complexity of the building and size of the project resulted in 1 x monthly inspection intervals and regular workshops with the site team which enabled the building fulfil its specification of < 5.00 (m3/hr) /m2 @ 50Pa.
