BET were initially employed as specialist consultants to review the external envelope work packages and advise the design team before construction commenced. We were subsequently engaged to carry out site audits of the ongoing works, working closely with their airtightness supervisor/foreman on site. The speed of construction, complexity of the building and size of the project resulted in 1 x monthly inspection intervals.

The project comprises a 23 ensuite bedroom extension to an existing nursing home at Celbridge, Co. Kildare. The new build involved constructing a new two storey building which is linked to the existing building, together with alterations to the existing facility. A separate store, plant room and single apartment building were also provided. New kitchen, dining room, living spaces, sluice room, storage rooms, laundry room along with site works and mechanical and electrical installations form part of the works. The new buildings were built and certified to the passive house standards, with air tightness requirement of 0.6m³ per hour per m³ at 50Pa.

We were engaged specialist consultants to carry out  site audits of the ongoing works, review of details, the FINAL ISO 17025 INAB Accredited airtightness and for control of aspergillosis on the new €12m Intensive Care Unit.
