Building Envelope Technologies was formed in 2001. Since this time BET have built a strong reputation among leading Architects, Contractors, Engineers and end users for providing a service of the highest technical integrity and have more experience in the area of building airtightness, building compliance & building defect analysis than any other company in the country.
Most of our so called “competitor companies” which have been formed after 2007 were setup to ride on the TGD Part L Building Regulations, this lasted for most until the next regulation fad arrived. It is quite evident as none of these companies insisted in a quality management system or technical procedures to ISO:17025, a quality mangagement system is the only indicator that a specialist compliance testing company are independent and that ALL results are 100% authentic & fully traceable.

All BET engineers hold a level 8 honours degree from Irish institutions & Irish Universities.
BET are ITC level 1, level 2 & ITC level 3 certified Thermographers for Building defect analysis & Electrical fault analysis, this is the highest possible standard worldwide for thermography.

We understood from the very beginning that offering support and expertise in design, site management, quality control and specialist training is the key to successfully achieving high levels of airtightness.
The company, formed in 2001 and incorporated in 2002, was the first in Ireland to specialise in the area of building and enclosure airtightness.
The initial objectives were to conduct research into existing levels of airtightness of Irish buildings and promote the importance of airtightness in achieving efficient, durable and comfortable buildings. This seems like old news today but was something that wasn’t appreciated fully in Ireland only five or six years ago.
The need to ‘future proof’ building performance for subsequent changes in the property and energy markets was however acknowledged early on by some developers, engineers, architects and government departments.
BET has subsequently received many repeat appointments on the basis of our early work with these clients.
We have developed an extensive and varied portfolio of projects since 2001 and have extended the range of services we offer to include consultancy, specialist enclosure and product testing, RIAI approved CPD training, building energy ratings and providing a range of specialist airtight building products.
We are currently involved in research collecting data from re-testing airtight buildings to establish the durability of airtightness performance over time and have been active in contributing to developments in legislation governing the thermal performance of buildings.
